About our Executive Leadership Training

The story, mission and people behind Exec Impact Mentor — and why organisations across the globe trust us with their most important leaders.

Our story

Exec Impact Mentor was founded in 2007 by Dr Fiona Hargreaves, a former chief operating officer in the financial services sector who saw first-hand how the right coaching at the right time could change the trajectory of a leader — and, by extension, an entire organisation. After spending fifteen years in senior operational roles, Fiona retrained as an executive coach and organisational psychologist, earning her doctorate from Queen's University Belfast with a thesis on adaptive leadership in times of crisis.

What began as a solo practice working with a handful of CEOs in Northern Ireland has grown into a respected consultancy with a network of twelve associate mentors, serving clients in more than forty industries worldwide. Despite this growth, we have remained deliberately boutique. We limit the number of active engagements so that every client receives the deep, sustained attention that genuine transformation requires.

Our headquarters remain at 9 Sycamore Close, Harber-upon-Pagac, Northern Ireland, QJ6 5HW, United Kingdom — a deliberate choice that reflects our roots and our belief that exceptional leadership development does not need a Mayfair address. What it needs is rigour, empathy and an unwavering commitment to the client.

Our mission and values

Our mission is simple: to develop leaders who lead with clarity, courage and compassion — leaders who create organisations where people thrive and results follow. Everything we do is guided by five core values.

Rigour

We ground every intervention in evidence. Our methods are drawn from peer-reviewed research in organisational psychology, neuroscience and behavioural economics. We measure what matters and hold ourselves accountable to outcomes, not just activity.

Candour

Growth requires honest feedback. We create a safe space for challenging conversations and we tell our clients what they need to hear, not just what they want to hear. This candour is always delivered with respect and genuine care for the individual.

Partnership

We do not position ourselves as gurus dispensing wisdom from on high. We work alongside our clients as thought partners, bringing our expertise to bear on their unique context. The best solutions emerge from genuine collaboration.

Integrity

We are transparent about what we can and cannot do. We will decline an engagement if we believe we are not the right fit, and we will always recommend the approach that serves the client best — even if it means a smaller contract for us.

Impact

Ultimately, leadership development must translate into tangible results — better decisions, stronger teams, healthier cultures and sustainable business performance. We are relentlessly focused on creating lasting impact, not just inspiring moments.

Meet the team

Our mentors are not career coaches — they are former executives who have sat in the same chair as our clients. They bring decades of boardroom experience, advanced academic credentials and a genuine passion for developing others.
